Sustainable Impact: Our Commitment to Responsibility and the Environment
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
At AKA Energy Systems, we are inspired by a vision that transcends the confines of our work, extending a profound and positive influence across the globe. We are determined to forge a legacy characterized by safer communities, a cleaner environment, and enriched lives.
Our commitment to CSR stems from a deep-seated belief that corporations should actively enrich the communities they serve. By allocating profits and dedicating personnel time, AKA supports innovative entities that champion transformative change.
In Ontario’s Grey Bruce County, AKA contributes monthly to the Grey Bruce Health Services Fund, enhancing local medical services. Similarly, the QEH Foundation in Prince Edward Island benefits from our donations. While much of our community work focuses on Prince Edward Island, our dedication knows no borders, with global initiatives receiving our ongoing support.
Environmentally Conscious Designs
At the core of AKA Energy Systems’ operation is a resolute commitment to the environment. Our environmental policy, an intrinsic part of our Quality Management System, is founded upon a philosophy that prioritizes ecological responsibility:
- Responsible Operations: Ensuring environmental integrity is essential for AKA’s continued success and the prosperity of the industry we serve.
- Integral Management: Environmental considerations are seamlessly integrated into our business planning and practices.
- Cost-Effective Stewardship: Proactive environmental engagement reduces expenses, minimizes liabilities, enhances shareholder value, and improves company standing with stakeholders.
- Collaborative Effort: Environmental responsibility is a shared endeavor, relying on the dedication of AKA’s management, employees, and partners.
- Preventative Approach: Preventing environmental degradation is our priority, outweighing the need for remedial actions.
Under this philosophy, AKA tirelessly works to lead industry standards, not just in sustainable practice but also in the development of technology that reduces the ecological impact of corporate activities globally.
MARINE
Our efforts extend to the marine industry, where AKA has set new benchmarks for ecological responsibility. Collaborating with Foss Maritime, we developed the propulsion system for the world’s first hybrid tugboat. Additionally, our solid-state generators represent a leap forward in efficiency, offering more than 50% fuel savings and concurrently reducing emissions and operating costs.
ONSHORE
On land, AKA’s micro-grid technology exemplifies our drive for sustainability. Capable of integrating with multiple renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar photovoltaic, our micro-grids provide consistent, clean power. These innovations not only enhance the energy efficiency of our facilities but also significantly cut diesel use and emissions, underscoring our commitment to reducing environmental impact and leading the way to a sustainable future.
